New To Yoga?
Welcome! We are honored to be the first step in your journey. This practice has given us so many gifts and we can’t wait to share them with you. We want you to love the practice as much as we do—feel free to ask your teacher any questions before or after class.
Which Classes Are Best For Beginners?
If this is your first-ever yoga class (or if it’s been a while), we recommend Chair Yoga, Deep Stretch, Slow Flow, Gentle Yoga or Pure Restore; you might also consider one or more private, one-on-one sessions where you will be the instructor’s sole focus.
Sunday Flow and Restore, Hatha Flow, any Vinyasa Flow class, and Yoga Firm & Sculpt are also solid all-levels classes, but they may be a bit confusing the first couple of times you take them. Don’t worry, though—every student has been, at some point, completely new to yoga, and our instructors are very good about course-correcting newer students.
We should also mention that Yin Yoga and Yin & Restore classes are often recommended for beginners, too, though they deeply stretch fascial tissue and can be intense for people who haven’t moved in some time.
What Do I Need For Class?
Wear clothing that allows for movement and feels comfortable. Bring a water bottle with you. If you have a yoga mat, bring it, too, though we have mats on site that you can borrow if needed. We also have yoga props that you can borrow—blocks, straps, chairs, etc.
I Have An Injury…
Be sure to tell your teacher before class starts if you aren’t sure how to accommodate for your injury during class. The teacher can give specific cues to help with your condition or alternatives if a pose may not be right for you.
I Still Have Questions…
